925 sterling silver
When you have not worn your silver jewelry for a while, it can happen that it darkens in color. Don't panic with a prepared cleaning cloth and a little Silvo, your jewelry is as good as new.
Plated jewelry
To prevent your silver and gold plated jewelry from discolouring, we recommend taking it off before showering and swimming. Also can
make-up remover, perfume and other oils damage the plated layer, so this jewelry needs a little more care.
Stainless steel
Stainless steel jewelry is actually the easiest to maintain. the jewelry will not discolour when it comes into contact with water, perfume or other oils. Nor does it cause an allergic reaction. At StudioMieks we use 316L stainless steel.
The jewelry that is 925 sterling silver has a mark (the number 925). Some items are gold colored, but also have a mark of 925. This means that the base material is silver, but with a gold layer (gold plated). With this jewelry, we also recommend taking off the jewelry while showering or swimming.
